ROUNDHOUSE EXCLUSIVE: Clarence Gilyard Remembers the Quarry Stunt
While revisiting “She’ll Do to Ride the River With,” we were thrilled to realize that Clarence Gilyard had once shared a behind-the-scenes memory of filming this very episode with us. During a Walker, Texas Ranger cast panel, we asked Clarence about memorable stunts from his years on the show. Here’s what he had to say:
“Greg Elam, who is a well-touted stuntman in the world of film and television, and his sons are still working right now, was my stuntman for the whole duration of the show. And there was an episode where Chuck and I happened upon somebody throwing what we thought was a body off of a cliff into a quarry. And so, of course, I was the one that—the character was supposed to dive in and save this person. And it wound up being a dog. But Greg was the one that jumped off the cliff into the quarry. And after he did the stunt, signed off on whatever it is, bonus that they give to those guys for doing those things… yeah, the director said, ‘We got to go again.’ Right. We had to go again, so I just patted Greg on the back and said, ‘Hang in there, buddy. I’m here for you. I’ll have this blanket for you when you get back.’”
Chuck Norris Nunchucks for Joey Breaux
Adam turned two busted Chuck Norris action figures into a one-of-one pair of Chuck Norris nunchucks, complete with chain and a Roundhouse Roulette carrying case, and personally delivered them to Joey Breaux at his Nashville birthday bash. Joey even gave the homemade chucks a try.
